Elite 8 Basketball Betting for This Weekend

Written by Thomas | Friday, March 25th, 2011

The NCAA tournament is down to their final 8 teams. Two games will be played on Saturday evening and the final two will be played on Sunday. Those four winners will converge on Houston, Texas for the Final Four. Remaining in the field is a #1, (2) #2, #3, #4, #5, #8 and #11. The 11 has won four tournament games, as they beat USC in the opening round of the tournament. The Rams of VCU were one of the final teams into the tournament. The lone #1 has not played an opponent better than a #9 the entire tournament, and won’t on Sunday as they take on #11 VCU. Many tradition college basketball schools are remaining: Kentucky, North Carolina, Arizona, Connecticut, Kansas and Florida. Butler is in the Elite 8 for the second straight season, and VCU is making it’s first appearance. We are going to give you our breakdown and our betting picks for Saturday’s games.

Florida Gators -3.5 over Butler Bulldogs

It’s really hard to pick against Brad Stevens and his boys from Indianapolis. BUT, Florida is very talented, and playing really well right now. The Gators have a trio of Boynton, Walker and Parsons that are too strong, too quick and too athletic for the Bulldogs. Look for this game to be close for 35 minutes, but Florida uses their athleticism and pulls away. Florida Gators to the Final Four.

Connecticut Huskies -3 over Arizona Wildcats

Nothing against Sean Miller and his Wildcats, but there is no way they can play as well as they did the final 20 minutes against Duke. That was one of the most incredible halves of basketball in tournament history. The Wildcats manhandeled Duke. Now Connecticut is a bit different, with a new style. Kemba Walker has been outstanding, helping Jim Calhoun’s team win nine straight games, including their great run in the Big East tournament. Look for Walker to be great again as the Huskies win. UConn to the Final Four!

Good luck with all your NCAA betting!
