Absolute and UB.com Reportedly Filing for Bankruptcy? Employees Being Laid Off!

Written by Thomas | Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011

The owners of Absolute Poker and UB.com have been carefully and quietly distancing themselves from the very company that was once thought to be a powerhouse of online poker.

In the days since “Black Friday,” Absolute Poker and UB.com have been scrambling to come up with a response to the DOJ’s indictment of their company’s execs for the past several weeks, and have made it clear they aren’t releasing player funds any time soon like PokerStars and Full Tilt have already agreed to do according to agreements made with the US government.

As of right now, rumors have been floating around the interwebs have confirmed that  executives have already fired over 95% of the Absolute staff, with equipment already being completely removed from the building that was the main home for Absolute’s operation.

On top of that, emails that have been leaked by Absolute shareholders show that the company is planning bankruptcy filings in Norway.

One such email was posted public on 2+2 by poster Mookman5, which can be FOUND HERE.

You can also see the entire 2+2 drama bomb here as well.

The email, which was sent to an Absolute shareholder, clearly outlines that Blanca Gaming (the operator behind Cereus – which owns UB.com and Absolute) is in severe debt and could possibly begin bankruptcy proceedings very soon.

With this breaking news, things aren’t starting to look too promising for the thousands of players who are looking to cash out their bankrolls from AB and UB, as it looks like the company is making strong efforts to pack up shop and stiff players and affiliates.

More to come on the story as it continues to break….
