Roulette Betting Systems
Roulette is an old French game that dates back to the 1800s. It has since evolved into a favorite game at both live casinos and at the best online Roulette sites. Roulette may be intimidating to new players, but it is an easy game once a player becomes familiar with the bets.
Roulette is a game of complete chance and the odds of the ball landing on a certain number are exactly the same in every round. Therefore, a definitive Roulette betting system that wins every time does not exist. However, using a strong strategy can at least help to lower the house’s advantage and give the player the edge.
How to Play Roulette
Roulette is a simple wagering game where players place bets on the outcome of a ball that lands on the Roulette wheel. Players can place bets on a particular number, on the number being red or black, on a group of numbers or on the number being even or odd. Players can play more than one wager at a time to improve their chances of winning. Each bet contains its own payout amount, which is dependent upon the probability of the wager.
Easier bets, like the red or black bet, pay an even ratio while a straight up bet on a single number pays 35 to 1. Players can continue to play the same bets over a period of rounds or change their wagers every time. Doing either, however, will not improve a player’s odds unless the player changes from a more difficult wager to an easier wager. For example, if a player bets on red and then black comes up, the player has the same chances of winning in the next round whether he or she sticks to red or switches to black. This is where Roulette betting systems factor in.
Martingale System
The Martingale System is a controlled wagering system. The way it works is that a player will double his wager right after a loss. If a player wagers $1 and then loses, he or she would play $2 in the next round instead. The idea is that, when the player eventually does win, he or she will make up for the lost money and make a small profit.
The only downside to this Roulette betting system is that it requires a large amount of money and if a player loses several times in a row, he or she could quickly reach the table limit.
D’Alembert System
The D’Alembert System is a Roulette betting strategy that most works with the even money wagers such as red or black and even or odd. The D’Alembert System is much like the Martingale in that a player controls the amount he or she is wagering. After a losing round, one betting chip is added to the wagering amount and after a winning round, one chip is taken away.
So if a player loses a $1 round, he or she will bet $2 the next time. If the $2 bet is a winner, the player will bet $1 the next time and bank the extra dollar. This system takes a long time to pay out anything more than a few extra dollars, but it’s also a good way to prevent losing money on wagers.
Basic Roulette Betting Systems
There are a few basic things a player can keep in mind to improve his or her chances. Playing multiple bets is the quickest way to start improving the chances of winning; however, playing many different wagers can make a player go through their bankroll quickly with little return. If a player is going for an inside bet (on the number 14 for example), it would be a good idea for the player to also play on red and on even.
This is because the number 14 is both an even number and a red number. If this number is the winner, the player will win three wagers, thus tripling his or her potential winnings. Even if 14 does not come up, the player can still win either on red, even or on both depending on the winning number.
Nobody can control what number the Roulette ball will land on, which makes it hard to place a definite wager. By using Roulette betting systems, players can at least gain a slight advantage, or, at the very least, break even most of the time. The Martingale and D’Alembert Systems use a controlled wagering strategy to help players recoup losses. Basic Roulette betting systems, such as placing multiple similar bets, are another way that players play smart Roulette.
